Competitions

In addition to Club Nights, we have a lively programme of competitive play. This changes from time to time to meet the interests of members but the summary below lists a typical selection:

Internal Leagues: we run Ladies’, Men’s and Mixed Leagues each with a number of divisions so that you can always ensure a challenging and rewarding game at your standard.

American Doubles League: this is a social doubles competition for those who can play matches in the daytime during the week.

Social Tournaments: at least 4 mixed doubles tournaments are held throughout the summer season.

Club Championships: these are held over a 3 week period during June. The events cover all age groups from under 8 to veterans and include singles, doubles, veterans and handicap events.

Representative Teams: the Club fields 4 Ladies’ and 4 Men’s Teams in the Birmingham Area League together with teams in County and National competitions. Also, we enter teams in the Birmingham Winter Leagues and the National Veterans competitions.

Generation Tournament: an annual charity event involving Adult and Child “fun” doubles.
