County League Squash
All those interested in indoor racquets will probably know by now that our Squash 1st Team finished top of the Warwickshire 1st Division, which was an awesome achievement. The final position was that they were 20 points clear of runners up, Sutton 1. It’s not easy to equate that to matches, like it is for instance in football – it is not a ‘run-away’ victory, but definitely a clear margin.
Squash Club Championships
The 2019 Squash Club Championships are now in full swing with the quarter finals stage coming up in early April. The Finals Night is planned for Wednesday 1st May and the plan is to replicate the format of the last few years, staging all the finals followed by a free buffet and happy hour in the bar where prizes are presented. Definitely a date for the diary!

Members & Guests QUIZ – Friday 26th April at 8pm
Following the sell out success of our Mother’s Day Carvery & Cabaret we are pleased to announce the next event will be our QUIZ & NIBBLES night.
Tickets are available over the bar – priced £10 for a team of 6 players.
Kelvin Jones together with his wife Chris will be posing the questions once again and we are all wondering if Alison’s team can make it 3 in a row!!
You are most welcome to bring some nibbles along with you to this event as there will not be any catering on the night. Please bring disposable plates and cutlery with you if needed.
This event is open to all Club members and their invited guests.
The prize for the winning team will be £60 in Arden vouchers (which you can spend over the bar!!)
If you want to go to the quiz don’t delay as it sold out last time and some Members were disappointed.

General Manager’s Update
I am happy to announce that we have appointed a new General Manager, Michelle Moore will be taking up her position at the club on the 13th of April 2019 and I will have the opportunity to work with Michelle until the end of April.
It was nearly two months ago when I announced to the club that I would be moving from the Solihull Arden Club at the end of April. I assured the club I would be working closely with the team and the MC over the next few months to identify a worthy successor and also to ensure the transition is smooth and of course keep members informed as we progress.
May I take this opportunity to welcome Michelle to the Solihull Arden Club and reassure her about all the management committee, staff and members, supporting some of the decisions we have made to make the clubs operation, capable of delivering the clubs future expectations.
On a personal note and more importantly, for making me feel welcome and an important part in the continued development of a very special members rackets sports club.
A word from Michele:
My name is Michelle Moore and I have worked in the leisure industry now for just over 10 years servicing over 10,000 members in world class operations such as the Warwickshire Racquets Club and David Lloyd clubs.
I am really excited to get to know all of the Solihull Arden members, lead on 5 star service and help grow the membership base, which in turn will create more investment opportunities for the club.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my partner and friends, go for dinner with family and enjoy holidays. I love playing badminton and table tennis along with football which I played successfully at when I was younger.
I really am looking forward to getting to know you and your club over the next coming months so please do come and say hello!
