Annual Squash Court Maintenance

The annual court maintenance has completed and the courts are now in good shape for another year’s play. Over the last couple of years we have had several occasions where the court floors have become badly marked by player with incorrect footwear. Please can all members ensure that they only wear shoes on court that are specifically non-marking for indoor court use in accordance with club rules. Also it is member’s responsibility to ensure that any guests they sign in comply with this rule. Many thanks.

Padel Update July

The club planning application to Solihull Council is progressing and we hope to receive a decision in early September.

Some funding applications are still in progress, we have received some smaller pledges for donations but await the outcome of the larger grant applications which we hope to hear about within the next month or two.
The fund-raising committee is in dialogue with Sport England again after the LTA formally recognised Padel Tennis as a sport.

The club is also in dialogue with the LTA regarding our Padel plans for the project.

Club Ethos and Culture

a speech bubble with text saying message from the general manager

As most if not all of our clubs members will know our ethos and culture as a club has always been one of welcoming, warmth and comradery.

It is these special qualities that have always been a major factor in the club’s spirit and heartbeat and one which is attractive to our members and those enquiring to become members.

Unfortunately we have recently received feedback from newly joined members that their experience has not lived up to these cherished standards which we are so proud to have at our club.

Whilst this is hopefully a couple of isolated events, it is a timely reminder of the importance we all share, of making new members at Solihull Arden feel welcome and integrated into the club.

It is vital for our sustainability and growth that we do all we can to sustain and hopefully increase our membership base, as such we all have a responsibility to maintain the excellent reputation of our wonderful club.

If you are interested in becoming a ‘buddy’ for any of our new members to help welcome them to the club whether this be the Tennis or Squash sections, please speak to Michelle who will be pleased to advise.

We thank you for your help and support
