Our club nights on a Monday and Wednesday from 6.00 to 10.00 are free to join just turn up and play.

We also have our internal leagues and if you want to join these just put you name down on the league sheet by the changing rooms or drop me an email. If you are available on a Thursday morning 10.00 to 12.00.

Chris Cronin organises a very social game again just turn up and Chris will warmly welcome you.

It has been raised that we could do with more social tennis so I am looking for anyone or a small group that would want to organise a Sunday afternoon social/family session. When I speak with other clubs, they have a couple of hours tennis followed by a few cakes and possibly a beer or 2.

If anyone would like to get involved please drop me a line and we will see if we can get it up and running for the summer.

Please spread good tidings!!!

A departing thought from the Ex manager

The biggest advantage of working with Solihull Arden Club, members, staff and colleagues is that I did not feel like I was working at all. When I look back on my career one of the high lights will always be the people I have worked with here. Thank you all for an inspiring and hopefully productive working partnership. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Michelle all the best as General Manager and if she receives the same support that I have, the club will continue establishing itself as the premier Rackets club in Solihull.

General Manager’s Update

Thank you for welcoming me over the last week to Solihull Arden, I am excited to work alongside the team and members. I am currently learning all of the processes and how the club operates. Please do come and speak to me should you want or need to discuss anything.

Welcome on board the European Squash Federation. We have secured a partnership whereby they will be working out of our office during the week, we look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship working alongside Claire and Joanne.

The road signage is being produced by SMBC and will positioned opposite the entrance drive on Sharmanscross road and directing traffic from Streetsbrook Road towards Sharmanscross Road and is due to be completed during May

The gates accessing Winterbourne Road are currently being retro fitted to include self-closing hinges and locks this should be completed in the next few weeks.

We are extremely pleased to announce that the windows in the bar and function room have now been replaced, this work was undertaken to make the room more secure, to increase the noise suppression for functions and improve the visual aesthetics of the room

Finally, we would like to update you on the water pressure in the club house, we have investigated the problem and have a plan in place to ensure this is corrected as of Friday 26th April. If you do feel at any point in the future that the pressure has dropped again, please inform a member of the team at the time of the occurrence.

About ESF

The European Squash Federation (ESF) was set up in 1973 in order to develop and promote squash across Europe. We are run by a Board of Directors, based all over Europe, who meet up four times a year to discuss the development of the sport and our working practices. We also hold an Annual General Meeting once a year, to which all of our member nations are invited to attend. We have set up various committees, all run by volunteers, to focus on specific development areas including championships, juniors, masters, coaching, referees and marketing. Our head office is located in Birmingham, England, and is staffed by two part-time employees who are responsible for communicating to all of our member nations.
