Whether you are beginner or a more advanced player, we offer the opportunity to play tennis in a friendly, sociable atmosphere, on top quality courts. In addition to Club Nights, we have a lively programme of competitive play. Here is an overview of Tennis activities:
Club night is the centrepiece of our social tennis programme. The emphasis is on playing mixed doubles, with players changing partners after one set. It is a great way to get to know other members and integrate into the social activities of the Club.
We run Ladies’, Men’s and Mixed Leagues each with a number of divisions so that you can always ensure a challenging and rewarding game at your standard. We also run an “American Doubles League” which is a social doubles competition for those who can play matches in the daytime during the week.
The Club fields 4 Ladies’ and 4 Men’s Teams in the Birmingham Area League together with teams in County and National competitions. Also, we enter teams in the Birmingham Winter Leagues and the National Veterans competitions.
These are held over a 3 week period during June. The events cover all age groups from under 8 to veterans and include singles, doubles, veterans and handicap events.
There are at least 4 mixed doubles tournaments held throughout the year.
